THE GAMBLERS
The Bad Luck Gamblers are a trio formed in Sao Paulo, Brazil in late 2004. Since the early days the idea was to play a mix of psychobilly and other influences by the band members, such as rockabilly, country and punk in order to create an energetic sound. The songs talk about all that is important in life: fast cars, wicked women, booze and gambling (of course).
In the last 20 years the band has been playing in every stage around the country, including the Psycho Carnival (main Brazilian psychobilly festival) and sharing the bill with bands like Reverend Horton Heat, Slim Jim Phantom Trio, Bloodsucking Zombies from Outer Space, Mad Sin, Guanabatz, Big Sandy & his Fly Rite Boys, Kães Vadius, Sick Sick Sinners and many more local acts.
The debut album DON'T BET ON US (2008 / 13 Records) was well received by the local media, fans and it reached number 9 of the top 25 Brazilian underground albums of that year by Rockpress, a Brazilian music magazine. In 2009, the music video for the song DEVIL´S LUCKY DICE was released and made available on YouTube and it was also part of the local MTV schedule back then. Two songs from the album were included in the soundtrack of the American Hot Rod DVD Vintage Torque 3.
In 2010, the band fired up the engines for its first European tour with gigs in France, Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium at 35 Sjock Festival, as the opening act to great psychobilly bands like: Reverend Horton Heat, The Meteors, Guanabatz and many others.
In December 2016, the second album called CASINO MALDITO (2016 / Hot Jail Records) was released, containing 10 songs that (still) speak about life, fast cars, wicked women, gambling and boozing with the devil. It already has good reviews from rock magazines/sites, and the new songs are spinning on many psychobilly radios from around the world.
In 2019, Bad Luck Gamblers went on their first American tour, playing in Los Angeles (CA), Las Vegas (NV), and Ventura (CA). They released the Bluff of Death EP on 7" vinyl, which is now also available digitally, along with the music video for Bluff of Death on YouTube!
Now in 2025, The Bad Luck Gamblers celebrate 20 years on the road with a special live DVD, 20 Years Deep in This Grind, capturing the raw power of their performance and honoring their loyal fanbase. A new studio album and West Coast tour are on the way.
